Reporting ToSenior Legal Counsel
Our client, a leading financial services company, seeks a confident and commercially astute junior legal counsel to join is expanding team.
Your primary focus will be to provide legal advice across a diverse range of internal matters in concert with colleagues in the Group's European offices. More specifically you will: provide legal input into all aspects of the affairs of the Group locally and within Europe; advise the compliance team in relation to the application of legal and regulatory obligations; assume responsibility for the maintenance and development of the Group's regulatory policies and procedures; support the legal team in new business initiatives; provide legal support on the more complex aspects of client affairs; and develop relationships with external law firms, liaising with such firms in the provision of legal advice.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Ideally you will be coming from a local law firm or in-house legal team where you will have gained some corporate, commercial, regulatory or funds experience. It is essential that you have completed a law degree or law conversion and that you have practical relevant experience. However it is not essential that you are qualified and those practicing locally in a paralegal or legal assistant capacity will be considered for this position.
